Kingsway youngster hits double century

Sixteen-year-old Blu Belluigi, from Kingsway High School in Amazimtoti, recently hit 248 not out in a 50-over match against Reddam House Umhlanga.

Belluigi turned 16 on the 13 December 2016. He has been playing 1st Team cricket for Kingsway High School in Amanzimtoti for the last three seasons. Prior to this match his highest score was 95 not out. His unbeaten 95 was scored in November 2016 in a match against St Benedict School in Pinetown.
Belluigi faced the first and last ball of a 50-over innings played against Reddam Umhlanga College, at Kingsway High School. During his mammoth four-hour innings, in 34 degree heat with sweltering humidity, Belluigi amassed 248 runs not out in his team's total score of 435 for five, thereby smashing the school record of 198 runs by a huge margin.
Belluigi stroked 28 fours and 11 sixes (three off the last four balls he faced) and was cheered by his teammates and spectators as he left the field.
