Kingfish wins at Mtwalume
Updated | By Andre Bloem
The Mtwalume Ski-Boat Club Game Fishing competition held over the Easter Weekend had huge surf, sunny skies and more participants enjoying the beach activities than the number of anglers fishing.
The winning fish was a fine 23.2kg kingfish (GT) landed by Brent Lester.
Lester also took second spot with a 12kg barracuda, while Roy McCullie claimed third place with a 10kg cuda.
The kiddies catch-and-release competition held on Easter Monday was won by Matthew Loubser.
The girls' top honours went to Rebecca East.
We are in for another cool day on the east coast with temperatures ranging from 17–24 degrees and partly cloudy weather conditions. We have SW winds predicted to blow up to 28 km/hr on Thursday.
With an increase in the swell size and clean offshore conditions, it’s a good day for surfers to keep an eye on their local breaks.
