Jean-Luc promoted to Bok squad
Updated | By Gareth Jenkinson
Cell C Sharks flank Jean-Luc du Preez has been elevated to the Springbok squad ahead of the June Test series against France.
The Sharks flank has been a top performer for the Durban outfit in this year's Super Rugby season and was a bit of a surprise omission when Allister Coetzee named his initial 31-man squad earlier this week.
Du Preez had been included in the star-studded SA 'A' side that will take on the French Barbarians in June. However the Bok coaching staff have now called up the 21-year-old as extra forward cover.
The Springboks will assemble in Plettenburg Bay for a week of preparation ahead of the three match series.
Du Preez will be hoping to add another Springbok cap to his name after making his debut for the Boks in November last year.
