Team of Choice are currently at the foot of the ABSA Premiership table and three points against the Urban Warriors could see them overtake the University of Pretoria who are 15th.

Maritzburg earned a vital point away at Orlando Pirates over the weekend in a match that left you asking the question ','Why are they in the relegation battle?"'

They squandered a number of chances and were by far the better side.

'I can accept the point. A big compliment to my players. I always said the last two to three games would be crucial and we had a clear ambition to get three points off Pirates. It was close and I was happy with our structure and strategy, which worked. There were some moments when we could have won the game but we didn’t score,' said head coach Ernst Middendorp.

Middendorp was also happy with the fighting spirit his side showed at the Orlando Stadium.

“But you can see fire, spirit and desire exists in this team and that is what we will need to save ourselves ultimately. It’s only the second time since January that we haven’t score a goal in a match.”

With two matches remaining,  Maritzburg have there fate in there own hands knowing a win over Ajax and most importantly against Jomo Cosmos on the 22nd of  May,  could see them escaping  relegation or at least get into the relegation and promotion spot against teams coming from the Nation First Division.
