Impi make it four in a row

UKZN Impi defeated hosts TUT 63-30 to earn their fourth consecutive win of the FNB Varsity Shield on Thursday night.
UKZN didn’t take long to put their name on the scoreboard, as Jean Droste ran over the line in the first five minutes. The visitors took an eight-point lead, but it did not last long.
TUT replied with a try of their own in the
10th minute. Captain Lukas van Zyl put the home side in the lead
after converting a penalty in the 15th minute. Three minutes later UKZN’s Grant Rattray put the visitors back in the lead by scoring wide on
the left, which was not converted.
TUT added two tries in the space of two minutes as Tshepo Nyathi scored underneath the poles, extending the lead to 25-13 for the Vikings. In the 39th minute, Sibusiso Nkosi scored a try for UKZN and the teams went to half-time with the scoreboard reading 25-18 to TUT.
In the third minute of the second half, Jean Droste put his side back in the lead and his try was converted, making the score 26-25 to Impi.
It was game on. Andrew Acton extended the lead with a converted try putting UKZN 34-25 up and UKZN were building seriosu momentum. Eight minutes later Impi's Sibusiso Nkosi ran over the line for the second time, before his try was converted to make it 42-25 for UKZN.
Shawn Jaards pulled one back for TUT, but Tristan Blewett extended the lead for UKZN lead after a converted try. The score 50-30 for UKZN.
With 14 men on the field, the UKZN Impi did not back down after Sbusiso Nkosi received a yellow card in the 66th minute. At 74 minutes Tristan Tredder took the score to 55-30 For UKZN. With 40 seconds remaining on the clock, Triston Tredder scored the final Try of the night. The score was 63-30 at full-time, in the favour of UKZN.
