Ikaneng tips Comrades double
Updated | By Andre Bloem
Joseph Ikaneng is now manager of the Bonitas Athletics Club and is a winner of three Comrades Marathon gold medals.
These days Ikaneng is a social runner.
His focus is on preparing others to challenge for running titles.
Bonitas Athletics Club has entered 14 elite runners in Comrades this year.
Four of them are women.
Ikaneng recently took his top runners to Mpumalanga for altitude training.
He says mountain running is important in preparing for a serious Comrades bid.
Ikaneng believes Harmans Mokgadi will prove difficult to beat.
He also rates the likes of Claude Moshyiwa and Leboka Noto.
Ikaneng is tipping South Africans to win both titles in 2013.
He is not ignorning the Russian twins completely, but says that "they need to focus after disappointing at the Two Oceans this year."
