Igesund releases Pirates stars
Gordon Igesund has agreed to release the six Orlando Pirates players he picked for the clash with Nigeria next week.
This means Andile Jali, Thandani Ntshumayelo, Daine Klate, Thabo Matlaba, Senzo Meyiwa and Oupa Manyisa are no longer available to face the Super Eagles.
Orlando Pirates head coach, Roger de Sa, said earlier that he was not keen on his players facing Nigeria on Wednesday night.
Pirates have a CAF Champions League date with Zamalek next weekend and De Sa wants his players fresh for the game at Orlando Stadium.
Pirates have an Absa Premiership date with Amazulu in Johannesburg later tonight.
They will also see action in the MTN 8 on Sunday afternoon.
That is when Pirates will meet Supersport United at Mbombela Stadium.
Igesund has summoned David Mathebula and Bennett Chenene as replacements for the Pirates players.
