Garrick caught at Winkle
Updated | By Andre Bloem
The guys at Kingfisher have told us that anglers in the Toti swimming pool area have been seeing some action in the form of brown skates and small grey sharks lately.
They also say that Warner Beach has been fairly quiet with some small blacktail and wave garrick the only fish being caught recently.
The rumour about two garrick being caught last week at Winklespruit using live baits has been confirmed. These fish were not very big, but this may be a sign of a wonderful garrick run in 2013.
There are still a few snapper salmon in Umkomaas. The area is also producing small grunter and also some brown skates and even the odd diamond skate.
Durban temperatures today will range from 10 – 26 degrees. We are in for partly cloudy conditions this morning with clear, sunny skies for the rest of the day. There is a NW of 9 km/hr blowing now which will swing to NEs of 28km/hr later - so if you are thinking of a trip to the beach today - the earlier the better.
