Garrick and shad at Toti

Amanzimtoti has been a productive rock and surf shad spot for anglers lately and has also seen the odd garrick around in the early mornings - especially on the low tides.
Doonside and Warner Beach have also produced a few shad as well as some garrick. Anglers at the Umkomaas river mouth are still landing some grunter and kob. A cop of just over 10 kgs was caught at the mouth recently.
The Bay Union SurfSki Challenge takes place at Marine SLC on Sunday, 7 July. Sunday’s route will be decided closer to race day once organizers have a clearer idea of what the weather has in store. With prize money of R10 000 there is bound to be top-class surfski racing across all of the age groups. For more information email [email protected]
