Fury v Joshua set for Saudi Arabia
Updated | By Nick Tatham
The world's most anticipated boxing bout is set for Saudi Arabia on 14 August according to Tyson Fury as he lines up a raid on Anthony Joshua's titles.
The meeting between the two British heavyweights will be a unification bout with all four titles on the line - three belonging to Joshua and one to Fury.
Speaking through his Twitter channel. Fury confirmed on Sunday that the fight was becoming a reality.
"Massive announcement FURY VS JOSHUA IS ON AUGUST 14 in The kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The worlds (sic) biggest sporting event all eyes on us," Fury said.
He then confirmed again that the two would go toe-to-toe in what is expected to be the richest fight in British boxing history.
"I have got some massive news. I have just got off the phone with Prince Khalid of Saudi Arabia and he told me this fight is 100 percent on, August 14."
"All eyes of the world will be on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
"I cannot wait, I repeat, cannot wait to smash Anthony Joshua on the biggest stage of all-time.
"This is going to be the biggest sporting event ever to grace the planet Earth. Do not miss it," the typically chirpy Fury added.
Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn spoke to Sky Sports News earlier in May where he confirmed that there were two dates set aside for the bout.
"August 7, August 14," Hearn told Sky Sports where the original dates.
"It's the same people we did the deal with for Andy Ruiz, that event was spectacular. As partners, they were fantastic as well, so we're very comfortable.
"We're very comfortable. Anthony's comfortable, he knows those people. They delivered on every one of their promises last time - we're ready to go."
