Fans stormed the field after Sundowns scored their sixth goal in Saturday's Absa Premiership clash.
It took close to an hour to restore order before match officials could continue the game safely.
The result saw Pirates drop to 10th on the PSL log - with just four wins in 15 league matches.
Buccaneers chairman Irvin Khoza confirmed on Monday that a new coach would be named next week. Augusto Palacios has been caretaker coach since Muhsin Ertugal stepped down late last year.
