The renowned challenges of being a tough scoring course took their toll on many of the golfers, and placed some teams under strain going into Day 4 of the tournament.

Cotswold Downs’ international reputation for its world-class putting surfaces received the “thumbs up” from the golfers.  Despite some very close calls, the hole-in-one Mercedes-Benz SLK prize is still up for grabs after some very hopeful shots fell within a metre short of the hole.

The South African teams continue to dominate the ProAm 4-Ball Alliance holding 7 out of the 10 top spots. Blue Valley Golf & Country Club (SA) finished ahead of the field in 1st place on 259 points. One shot behind, on 258 is Windsor Park (SA) in 2nd place followed by The Crete Golf Club (Greece) finishing 3rd on 256 points.

The internationals continue to lead the field in the Professional Individual Stableford, with Henrik Engdahll (The Crete Golf Club - Greece) finishing in tied 1st place with Steve Basson (Omeya Golf Club – Namibia) on 108 points. Holding 3rd spot is American Chad Ayres of Hillcrest Golf Club on 107 points and two shots behind on 105 points is Australian Aaron Cox (Caboolture Golf Club).

The best round of the day went to Wayne Krambeck from Cotswold Downs (SA) who finished on 39 points. Day 4 of the tournament travels back up the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast to take on the challenges of Prince’s Grant Golf Estate.
