Dawn Dunn: The Good, bad and ugly
Updated | By Staff Writer
The Ugly
The Sharks have developed a very bad habit and I warned them in my article last week. They tend to relax when they have a decent lead and it is a very dangerous and detrimental habit which they need to drop fast!
They went into half time leading 13-6 at the break. The second half was very disappointing and they let The Bulls dictate play which is counter- productive. I am not happy that we have lost our first game on SA soil. This was our first away game and the results are sucky to say the least. My shattered nerves!
The Bad
I am not happy with our set piece at all. We lost a few of our own line outs. The Bulls totally dominated us at the breakdown especially in the second half. Charl had a shocker and I expect much better from him. I know that he is leaving us, however, he needs to give us 100% while he is here. We missed too many tackles and quite frankly, did plenty kicking and NO CHASING!!! There is absolutely no point in kicking possession away if none of the players could be bothered to chase! I know that we lost both half backs in the first 15 mins and this was very tough for the team. I hope that we get Cobusie and Lambie back soon.
The Good
The boys started off really well. They took all points on offer. Tim Swiel stepped in for Lambie and did an excellent job. I think that was really awesome under very difficult circumstances. Congratulations to our JP for his 100th Super Rugby Cap. I am happy that the boys have brought home a bonus point. I know that this was a difficult match to play against a very determined Bulls side. Sithole, Lwazi, Kanko, Steyn had great games. However, our aim this year is not only to qualify for the play-offs but to Win Vodacom Super Rugby for the first time. So, can we stick to the program please!
