We caught up with Mrs Van Jaarsveld and asked her some questions.
1. What is your favourite sport and why?
Definitely cricket! I was a cricket scorer from the age of 13 and then I married a cricket player. Just love it!
2. What’s ONE thing most people don’t know about your partner?
I think he is definitely the best husband and father. He is a family man and will always put us first. Vaughn is very religious.
3. Are you always on the side-lines watching your partner when they play?
Always. I make sure I am at every home game. I don’t think I have ever missed any of Vaughn’s games. Our boys love it! They are also into the whole cricket thing.
4. Do you have any pre-match rituals or habits?
Well, I don’t teach on a Friday (because its game days) so we always go for a coffee at Europa after the school run.
5. What do you love most about your partner’s sport?
I love it when he bats, gets his 50 or a 100. Oh boy and then when he takes his helmet off.
6. What do you like least about your partner’s profession?
There is quite a few! The politics must be number one and then that stats don’t really count.
7. What’s your favourite day of the week and why?
This must be a Monday. The players have the day off so Vaughn is at home.
8. Any story or anecdote you’re comfortable sharing about your partner in relation to their profession?
Vaughn is such a humble player and person. He loves his job.
