Coetzee to leave the Sharks
Updated | By Andre Bloem and The Sharks
Marcell Coetzee will leave the Cell C Sharks after the 2016 Vodacom SupeRugby season.
The Sharks confirmed today that Coetzee will join Ulster at the conclusion of the 2016 SupeRugby campaign.
Gary Gold, Director of Rugby, said: “Marcell has made a significant contribution in recent seasons, but we understand the appeal of the huge salaries on offer in Europe. He will be missed, and yet his departure will create new opportunities for the group of outstanding loose forwards emerging in our squad."
“Marcell is fully committed for Supeugby, and will captain the Cell C Sharks team in the match against Toulouse this evening," Gold added.
Our very own Sky Tshabalala is expected to play for the Sharks tonight.
The Sharks coaching staff has made it clear that they expect a very physical onslaught from what is a very big Toulouse pack of forwards.
