Cilic claims maiden US Open title
Updated | By ECR Newswatch

Cilic met Kei Nishikori in the final that lasted just under two hours.
The Croatian defeated the Japanese in straight sets 6-3 6-3 6-3 to win his first grand slam title.
He becomes the first Croatian to win a grand slam title since his coach Goran Ivanisevic celebrated a Wimbledon victory in 2001.
Nishikori on the other hand was the first player from Japan to reach a slam final.
The final marked the first time since the 2005 Australian Open that at least one of tennis's big three of Novak Djokovic, Rafa Nadal and Roger Federer was not playing for the title.
