Champion in Gold Cup field

A test of stamina, the race attracts the best of the country’s stayers.

Jeppe’s Reef won the eLan Property Group Gold Cup last year after two previously unsuccessful attempts and will have a chance of becoming just the third horse in history to win this event two years in a row.

Jeppe’s Reef, now six years old, has won six times in a career spanning four seasons – and claimed second place in the Grade 3 Chairman’s Cup in Cape Town in February this year.

The Chairman's Cup is run over the same distance as the eLan Property Group Gold Cup.

Greyville will host the Gold Cup this Saturday - 26 July 2014.
