Boks' Kriel, De Allende out of 2nd Test
Updated | By Gareth Jenkinson
Springbok centres Jesse Kriel and Damian de Allende have been ruled out of the second Test against France in Durban this weekend.
Kriel has been ruled out this week after picking up a concussion in the Springboks’ 37-14 win over France in the first Test in Pretoria.
The outside centre had a phenomenal game and scored the Boks first try in the first half.
He was later taken off the field after being diagnosed with a concussion and the Bok management have confirmed that Kriel will miss the second Test.
Meanwhile Damian de Allende has been sent back to the Stormers to continue his rehabilitation. The Springbok coaching staff were hoping the Province centre would be ready for action after picking up a leg injury playing against the Sharks close to a month ago.
De Allende will work his way back to fitness in Cape Town and Francois Venter has joined the Springbok squad as extra centre cover. It’s seems likely that Frans Steyn and Jan Serfontein will start in the centres this weekend.
