Big surfing ahead in Scottburgh
Competitive surfers are reminded to enter the inaugural Scottburgh Powerplay Surf Pro.
This is the richest Surfing South Africa Pro Surf Tour event this year for men and women with the highest ratings and a prize pool of R50 000. It will be taking place at Scottburgh beach on the KZN south coast on 3 and 4 August.
There is a 3A rating for the men’s event with a R30 000 prize purse and a 2A rating for the women’s contest with a R20 000 prize purse. It is in your best interests to help to spread the word among other competitive surfers, because 48 men and 24 women need to enter for the prize purse and ratings to be secured.
The lucrative Surf Pro forms part of the Africa Marine & Leisure Expo presented by UGU South Coast Tourism and boasts an action-packed entertainment line-up for the whole family to enjoy.

Entries for the surf contest close on 30 July and heats and schedules will be posted on the Surfing South Africa website on Friday August 2.
It looks like we are in for another gorgeous day in Durban with clear skies, light WNW winds and a max temperature of 24 degrees – so it’s definitely a good day to be on the beach or in the water!
