Anglers urged to fish responsibly
Updated | By Andre Bloem

We have heard news about a dog on the south coast that had a fishing hook stuck in her chin.
Anglers often feel victimized when general beachgoers complain about the littering associated with a day out fishing.
However, when a hook, sparkplug and fishing line is involved in an injury like this – one is reminded on the need to dispose of waste materials carefully.
Fishermen are urged to only leave their footprints on the beach.
On a positive note, there is a great event coming up in Durban this weekend. Heather Campbell sent in a reminder about the final Dolphin Mile Surf Swim Series Race for 2013 which is taking place this Sunday - 8 September.
Registration is from 06h30 in the morning and the swim starts at 07h30 sharp at the Marine Surf Life Saving Club.
There will be a prize-giving afterwards for series winners and competitors who have completed the series, as well as some spot prizes.
It promises to be a gorgeous and hot Tuesday in Durban – perfect for a trip to the beach with a maximum temperature of 27 degrees, clear skies and NW winds blowing for the majority of the morning with the possibility of a SW buster coming through later today.
