Kevin Anderson has continued his steady climb up the men's world tennis rankings after his best ever performance at Wimbledon.

Anderson, reached the third round at the All England Club for the first time, rose to a career-high 22nd in the latest ATP list released on Monday.

He was eliminated by world number six Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic, who prevented South Africa's top-ranked player from reaching the fourth round at a third successive Grand Slam tournament, at the grass court event.

Novak Djokovic remains world number one, while Roger Federer has slipped to fifth in the latest rankings.

Chanelle Scheepers, eliminated by Italian Roberta Vinci in the first round of the women's singles at Wimbledon, dropped two places in the WTA rankings.

Scheepers, however, soared 36 places to a career-high 47th in the doubles rankings after reaching the semi-finals of the women's doubles competition with Japanese partner Shuko Aoyama.
