Amazulu pull plug on Rosslee
Updated | By Staff Writer
"The directors have agreed to relieve Craig Rosslee from the position of head coach with immediate effect," a statement from Usuthu read. "The decision was due to a poor run of form over the past couple of months."
Rosslee was initially placed on leave ahead of their Telkom Knockout encounter with Bloemfontein Celtic in Durban on October 3.
The club stated at the time that the decision was taken due to a "poor run of form and safety concerns" with assistant Wilfred Mugeyi placed in temporary charge.
The safety concerns came after fans reportedly staged a protest demanding Usuthu get rid of him following a woeful start to the season that has seen them fail to register a league win in 2014/15.
They did subsequently win the Telkom Knockout tie under Mugeyi, who will continue to take charge of the team after overseeing training ever since.
Video analyst Ronnie Moroka, goalkeeper coach Graham Johnson and Japhet Zwane as the team manager will assist Mugeyi in the interim.
"Craig has been notified of the decision to terminate his contract and we wish him well with his future plans," the club's general manager, Peter O'Connor, added.
Rosslee is the fourth managerial change at a Premiership club this season joining Cavin Johnson (SuperSport United), Boebie Solomons (Polokwane City) and Kosta Papic (Chippa United).
