The centre has impressed Sharks head coach, Robert du Preez, in Vodacom Super Rugby action this season.
"He has been really good and the best of our backs for two weeks in a row. He will just keep on growing," Du Preez said.
Lock forward, Ruan Botha, is another player to impress Du Preez over the past two weeks.
"Ruan has been a stalwart in the line-out. It is great to have a guy like him. Ruan has been really good," Du Preez added.
Du Preez has admitted to feeling the tension during a tight win in Canberra. He also feels that it is something one expects from Super Rugby.
"It was hectic. I cannot see any easy games soon," said Du Preez.
The Sharks will host the Waratahs in Durban tomorrow (Saturday) and Du Preez anticipates another tough assignment for his team.
"They have got a good pack and they will be tough at the breakdown with Hooper in their team. They have some special players in Phipps and Folau. It is hard to say how the Waratahs will play on Saturday. They did give the Brumbies a big hiding at the beginning of the year," said Du Peez.
Du Preez is encouraged by the progress shown in Canberra last weekend.
"We were obviously disappointed with the Reds game. We expected a lot more from ourselves. The second game was a lot better and the boys have taken a lot of confidence out of that. We are hoping to build on the last performance this weekend," Du Preez concluded.
