Eto'o called it a day after he was stripped off his captaincy this week by Cameroon.
The former Chelsea, Anzi, Barcelona and Inter Milan striker played at four World Cups.
He won 2 African Cup of Nations, in 2000 and 2002, and was part of the team that were crowned Olympic champions in 2000.
The new Everton striker scored 56 goals in 118 appearances for his Country.
Alonso on the other hand was part of Spain's world cup winning team in 2010.
He won 2 European Championships.
He says the hardest thing was to know when to call it the end.
The Real Madrid man scored 16 times in his 114 matches for the Vicente del Bosque’s side.
