African hopes shattered in Brazil

Algeria and Nigeria were the last African hopes at the Brazilian showpiece, both teams were in last 16 action last night.
Algeria took Germany right down to the wire only to lose 2-1 in extra time.
The Super Eagles, despite their superior dominance with ball possesion suffered a 2-0 loss to France.
The French and the Germans advanced to the quarterfinals, the two sides will meet in the next round.
They join Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica and the Netherlands in the last 8.
The last two spots are up for grabs tonight, Argentina take on Switzerland and Belgium meet USA.
