A good day for surfing
Updated | By Andre Bloem
We are in for another gorgeous day on our beaches with clear skies and a maximum temperature of 25 degrees in Durban.
We have light NW winds blowing this morning which will swing to light NEs so surfers, bathers, bodyboarders and paddlers can make the most of another day with beautiful ocean conditions.
Meanwhile, the North Durban Honorary Officer’s annual Open Day will be held on Wednesday, 1 May 2013, between 10h00 and 16h00 at the Beachwood Mangroves Nature Reserve on the north bank of the Umgeni River estuary.
Honorary officers are volunteers who assist Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife with their conservation efforts. The purpose of the Open Day is to create awareness and promote nature conservation and the general preservation and care of the environment among local communities and to recruit additional members to the group.
Guided walks will be conducted through the reserve during the course of the day. Both fun and educational activities will be taking place and a large variety of food and drinks will be on sale. This is open to everyone so surfers, anglers, conservationists and general beachgoers feel free to go along and make the most of it.
