1st ODI between SA & England postponed
Updated | By Nick Tatham
In a late revelation the first One Day International between the Proteas and England was postponed on Friday following a positive COVID-19 test amongst the Proteas squad.
The unidentified player tested positive during the most recent round of testing on Thursday and both CSA and the ECB decided to postpone the fixture to Sunday.
In a statement released at 12pm on Friday Cricket South Africa said that they needed to take into consideration the safety of all those involved in the bio-bubble.
"In the interests of the safety and well-being of both teams, match officials and all involved in the match, the Acting CEO of CSA, Kugandrie Govender as well as the CEO of the ECB, Tom Harrison, have agreed to postpone the first fixture to Sunday," the statement read.
So what will happen now is the sides will play back-to-back matches on Sunday and Monday with the final match of the series on Wednesday.
