Land central to radical economic transformation: Zweli Mkhize
African National Congress (ANC) Treasurer General Zweli Mkhize says land redistribution is central to radical economic transformation.
Speaking to Jacaranda FM News, Mkhize said radical economic transformation is meant to bring about a fundamental change in the patterns of economic ownership.
He did point out however that unlike a recent statement by President Jacob Zuma, the issue of land expropriation without compensation has not been discussed by the ANC.
Land redistribution and radical economic transformation are expected to be the most hotly-debated issues at the party's policy conference in June.
It is also seen as key in the battle between Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma to succeed President Zuma as ANC leader in December.
