Zuma’s ANC disciplinary set for 17 July
Updated | By Cliff Shiko
The ANC has set 17 July as the new date for a disciplinary hearing against former president Jacob Zuma.

Zuma was suspended by the ANC in January following his decision to throw his weight behind the uMkhonto weSizwe party ahead of the elections.
However, the hearing could not be held at the ANC’s Luthuli House headquarters due to security concerns, with MK party members threatening to march to the building on the Johannesburg CBD.
The hearing will now be heard virtually.

Even though Zuma said he would not campaign or vote for the ANC, the former president said he had no plans to resign from the party.
His ANC membership has not been terminated.
The ANC’s National Disciplinary Committee has charged Zuma with two counts of misconduct.
Zuma is accused of contravening the ANC constitution after he publicly endorsed the MK party in December and for appearing on the candidate list for the MK party in this year's election.
If he is found guilty, he will become the first ANC president in history to be expelled from the party for misconduct.
