Zuma private prosecution case against Ramaphosa postponed
Updated | By Lauren Beukes
The High Court in Johannesburg has granted a postponement in Jacob Zuma's private prosecution case against President Cyril Ramaphosa.
The former president accused Ramaphosa of being an accessory after the fact in his matter involving state prosecutor Advocate Billy Downer and journalist Karyn Maughan.
Zuma claims Downer, the lead prosecutor in his arms deal case, leaked his private medical information to Maughan.
The State has denied the allegations.
The former president was at court on Thursday, accompanied by his daughter, Duduzile.

His lawyer, Advocate Dali Mpofu, had requested that the Ramaphosa matter be delayed until August to allow the appeal processes to be completed.
"Unlike a normal criminal matter where he can withdraw charges and reinstate them if the private prosecutor does not appear on a said date, then the matter is permanently dismissed.
"Therefore, the arrangement that we had with this court to the DJP and other persons is that we will have this. As a result of that, to avoid the back and forth here every month, we have agreed on a longer-than-normal postponement so that hopefully, by then, this appeal might be finalised."
The case has been postponed to 6 August.
