PHOTOS: Zolile Khumalo murder accused appears in court

Hundreds of angry Mangosuthu University of Technology students have marched to the Durban Magistrate's Court where the man arrested in connection with the murder of Zolile Khumalo has made his first appearance.
Police say the suspect, Thabani Mzolo is Khumalo's ex boyfriend.

MUT management says Mzolo was allegedly signed into the residence by another registered student.
They are demanding an end to gender-based violence.

Security had to prevent some students from entering the building due to the number of people who participated in the protest.
The State was granted a seven day adjournment in the matter to allow for further investigations and the verification of Mzolo's address.

He is due in court again on the 10th of May.
