WATCH: Police comb scene of deadly shootout near King Shaka

Officials were on Wednesday afternoon still busy at the scene of a fatal shootout on the N2 near King Shaka International Airport in Durban.
Five suspected robbers have been killed.
It's understood a gang of eight robbed a clothing outlet in Empangeni in the morning.

As they fled in two vehicles, they were pursued by private security officers who called for backup.

Police officers and other security personnel were waiting at the Tongaat Toll Plaza.

Police say 8 suspected robbers who were travelling in two vehicles allegedly robbed a clothing store in Empangeni this morning.
