Warning for KZN motorists following fatal N2 boulder attack
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
KZN police say they have identified four rock-throwing hotspots in and around Durban.
Several motorists have come forward in recent weeks to say they were hit.
In the worst attack to date, seven-year-old Abdur Raheem and his sister - 16-year-old Amina Haffejee - lost their lives when a boulder was thrown at their family's car on the N2 north between Tongaat and Ballito.
Police have been deployed to monitor the N2 after Petroport near Nandi Drive, the N2 near the Tongaat Bridge and the N2 near Gateway and Chesterville.
A motorist heading to Ballito was injured in an incident this past weekend.

Police are urging people to extra vigilant at all times. Defensive driving instructor, Johann von Bargen has this advice for motorists.
"If they have plans to do something, like drop something on to a vehicle - they won't be walking across the bridge. So look for people who are stationary. Those are the ones you have to be watching out for. They will also be above the middle lane. When you approach the bridge - a good idea would be to change the lane if possible just before you get to the bridge. So looking far ahead, one of the most important things to try and do is avoid the incident," he says.
