Umgeni Water concludes appointment of new board
Updated | By Steve Bhengu
Umgeni Water says it's now in the process of finalising appointments on its new board - which could take up to three months.
The board at the water utility was dissolved just over a year ago.
Ziphozethu Mathenjwa's been briefing the media on Umgeni Water's performance over the 2017/2018 financial year in Durban.
It's reported a profit of R1.2-billion.
There was a cloud of uncertainty over Umgeni after its Chief Executive, Cyril Gamede, was suspended last year, pending an investigation into corruption.

An acting head stepped in and was given strict instructions to report all big decisions to national government.
Earlier this year, Thami Hlongwa was appointed to the post. Mathenjwa says they've been doing things by the book to bring about stability.
"The adverts went out in January 2018 following all the processes and he resumed his duties in July 2018. The appointment of the chief executive was done by the whole board following our policies, and Section 36 of the Water Services Act," she said.
