Two expected in court for stealing 52 LED streetlights in eThekwini

The eThekwini Municipality says it will assist law enforcement with the investigation into the theft of 52 LED streetlights that were about to be smuggled into Mozambique.

The city property valued at R1.8 million was recovered by the Border Management Authority.
Officials found the lights on a trailer that was intercepted at the Kosi Bay border.

Two suspects have been arrested and are expected in the Emanguzi Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Police say the suspects could not explain how the lights ended up in their possession.
