At least twelve people have lost their lives in a major bus accident at the R21/R24 North split near Kempton Park, where the bus overturned.

The victims include nine males and three females.
According to Ekurhuleni Emergency Management spokesperson William Nthladi, the bus crashed early this morning while traveling from Katlehong to Kempton Park.
“R21 is completely closed for traffic, and we urge motorists to use the Griffiths off-ramp onto Old Pretoria Road, then join R21 at Voortrekker in Kempton Park,” conformed Nthladi to Jacaranda FM News.
He adds the scene remains active, as the bus is still in its overturned position and has not yet been removed.
