Twelve Apostles Church ‘shocked’ by deadly bus crash
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
The Twelve Apostles Church in Trinity said it
is still shocked following the bus accident that claimed the lives of its nine
members and injured others on Sunday.

Initial investigations have revealed that a burst tyre might have caused the 82-seater bus to lose control and roll 100 meters down an embankment between Mandeni and Stanger along the N2.
It is understood the church members were travelling back from a church service in Richards Bay to Shakaskraal.
It took emergency teams hours to retrieve the bodies of victims from the wreckage.
The completely damaged bus was removed from the accident scene on Monday.

Families have also begun the process of identifying their loved ones, while plans for a memorial and funeral are underway.
"Most of the members are humble members of the church because if you can see that they were able to travel from Shaka to Richards Bay, that shows how much they like the church. We've lost people who believe in God," said Emmanuel Mpungose who is the provincial secretary of the church.
"So, we have lost soldiers in the families. We know that there are some of them were the breadwinners. It now means that most of the families will be left with no one to put the bread on the table."
Meanwhile, in a statement, the KwaDukuza Municipality said it is working with KZN Transport to find possible solutions to reduce crashes on the stretch of the N2 ahead of the Easter Weekend.
