Tributes are pouring in from across the cricketing fraternity for legendary commentator, Kotie Grove.
Grove who has been battling with cancer, passed away this morning at the age of 71.
Supersport's Clinton van der Berg says Grove became an institution as an Afrikaans commentator when he joined the sports channel's commentary team.
He says he will be sorely missed.
"Kotie was very popular, he was a warm-hearted man and very generous. Despite all his experience and knowledge, he was the most caring guy and very generous to the youngsters who came into the world of cricket. He was always helpful and loved his job in the commentary box. His enthusiasm in his later years was absolutely undimmed," van der Berg said.
Sports journalist and broadcaster, Kass Naidoo, has taken to Twitter to pay her respects saying 'I am gutted to hear of the passing of Kotie Grove. I have been close to him throughout my career and he freely gave his time, knowledge and friendship.'

I’ve just read about the death of Kotie Grove. One of the kindest men in the press boxes around the country, always had a smile and a hello, and often a joke. Condolences to his family and colleagues at @SuperSportTV , and many, many friends.
