Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Three suspected robbers have been killed and seven have been arrested during a shootout with police in an attempted cash-in-transit heist on the N2 near Harding.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says the suspects were incepted at Stafford's Post after officers received information about three suspicious-looking vehicles tailing a cash-in-transit vehicle.
"It's alleged that the suspects opened fire at the members who retaliated. In the exchange of gunfire, three suspects were shot and killed and seven have been arrested. One was taken to hospital for medical attention. No vehicle was robbed therefore, no cash was involved," she says.
