A man has been arrested in Northern Cape after police found
21 stolen sheep in a minibus taxi which ran out of petrol.

Police came across the taxi on the N14 between Vryburg and Kuruman in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police spokesperson Amanda Funani says the police were patrolling in the area when they spotted a stationary minibus on the side of the road.
“Upon approaching the vehicle for enquiries, the police saw two individuals fleeing from the scene leaving the 43-year-old man behind. A subsequent search led to the discovery of 21 sheep which were found loaded in the minibus.
“The suspect was arrested after failing to account for the possession and the vehicle was impounded.”
Funani says a preliminary investigation showed that the minibus ran out of petrol.
The suspects were travelling from Kuruman where the sheep were allegedly stolen at Tsineng village.
The lawful owner of the sheep has seen been traced.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Vryburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
