Slain KwaDumisa teen to be laid to rest
Updated | By Noxolo Miya
The family and friends of 18-year old Zinhle Kathi are gathering on the south coast to say their final goodbyes to the slain matric pupil.
The teen was assaulted and killed allegedly by her partner at her KwaDumisa home last week.
She’s being laid to rest at a community hall on Sunday morning.
Her sister, Thando Khathi, says they are still trying to process what happened to her.
She says what’s even more heart-wrenching is that her two-year old nephew doesn’t understand that his mom is gone.
"He doesn't even know that Zinhle is gone, because every time he sees her picture, he still asks where she is.
But when everyone leaves home, that's when he notices that Zinhle is no longer there."
Meanwhile, the 22-year-old suspect is due to apply for bail next week.
He made his first appearance at the Sawoti Magistrate's Court on Friday.
