Shots fired at Durban petrol station, tow-truck driver hurt

Police are trying to establish the motive behind an early morning shooting incident on the Berea in Durban yesterday that left a local tow-truck driver in hospital.
The incident took place at a petrol station.
Rescue Care's Garrith Jamieson says the victim suffered three gunshot wounds and was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.
Police spokesperson, Nqobile Gwala says Umbilo SAPS are investigating a case of attempted murder.
She says the incident occurred at around 6.15am.
"The 31-year-old was sitting in his vehicle, parked outside a petrol station. He was approached by unknown men who shot him," said Gwala.
The motive for the attack is still unknown.
In April, a 40-year-old taxi and tow-truck boss was shot dead in Phoenix, north of Durban - sparking fears of a brewing turf-war.

By yesterday afternoon he was stable.

"The 31-year-old was sitting in his vehicle, parked outside a petrol station. He was approached by unknown men who shot him," said Gwala.
He was taken to hospital for medical attention.
