SA's Black Friday compares well internationally
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
An economist believes Black Friday in South Africa is now on par with other countries.

Mike Schussler has been speaking to Newswatch as many consumers' pockets recover from Black Friday spending.
Stores and businesses across the country slashed prices on Friday in line with the international trend. Schussler says specials and discounts will always be influenced by local tax requirements.
"It's difficult to compare electronics products in South Africa to overseas. We have a different customs and excise regime on them. In many cases our food products are relatively low in international terms. So in terms of that terminology, there have been good specials," he says.
