SANTACO urges calm after Ladysmith taxi shooting

The South African National Taxi Council in KZN is pleading with its members to desist from violence to resolve their differences.

It's after violence erupted at the Klipriver taxi rank in Ladysmith, in northern KZN.
Provincial spokesperson Sifiso Shangase says they’re unsure what the incident was about, but they have launched an investigation.

"There's information that has been relayed to us that certain individuals arrived at the rank, they were actually wearing their own clothing and seemingly approached certain operators who are taxi owners, and then there was a certain argument between them. Eventually, these guys who arrived then shot at these operators."
No one was injured.
