The South African Human Rights Commission met with officials from eThekwini Municipality and Verulam residents on Tuesday to discuss the prolonged water outages.
It's understood some homes in the area north of Durban have been without running water for nearly 100 days.
They took to the streets on Monday and Tuesday, demanding urgent action from top officials.
Supply outages have also been reported in other parts of eThekwini, including Athlone Park in Amanzimtoti and Cliffdale Road in Outer West Durban.

Tongaat resident Teddy Naidu says some still do not have water for more than a week since a storm affected the local water treatment plant.
"The government is failing in the responsibility to deliver service to our community, and we will continue applying pressure until we get water. We are fighting for our constitutional right."
In Durban North, councillor Shontel de Boer has described the situation as unstable, with reservoir levels fluctuating.
"So, it’s all the way from Glenashley La Lucia and then Virginia, parts of Durban North, the entire Park Hill, and Umngeni Park area.”
