The party's Bheki Shandu says they came across a pamphlet on Monday, which bore the party logo and was written in support of Gumede

The pre-trial hearing for the former Durban mayor and her 21 co-accused was postponed this week.

The group's facing over 2 500 fraud and corruption-related charges linked to a multi-million rand Durban Solid Waste tender.

Shandu says the use of the logo undermines the principles and values of the SACP.

"The SACP in KwaZulu-Natal has taken a decision that any leader who is charged for corruption we are not going to be part of the group supporting that particular leader because of our stance in relation to corruption.

"We strongly believe that corruption whether alleged or real robs our people of an opportunity to have access to services because all resources that are deployed by national government to any of the spheres of government are primarily intended to make live of our people better."
