Govt in contact with several South Africans in Afghanistan
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Government says the South African High Commission in Pakistan is in contact with several South Africans who are in Afghanistan.

The Department of International Relations and Cooperation says it has taken note of the developments in the country.
The Taliban has seized control after taking a number of major cities last week.
The group entered the capital Kabul on Sunday and declared the 20-year-war over.
International Relations says it's particularly concerned by the plight of displaced residents seeking safety and security.
It's made a call to those in power to ensure the rule of law, human rights and safety of all residents and foreign nationals are protected and to ensure an orderly transition to a new government.
South African nationals currently in Afghanistan and in need of assistance, should contact the Consular Section of the Department at [email protected] or the South African High Commission in Islamabad, Pakistan.
