SA decision to recall diplomats from Israel met with mixed reaction

There's been mixed reaction to South Africa's decision to recall its diplomats in Tel Aviv over the dire situation in Gaza.
Healthcare workers union, Nehawu, says while it's pleased with the move, it feels the government should step up its response to the month-long war between Israel and Hamas.
The government says its ambassadors from Israel are being withdrawn for consultations.

"We call upon the government of the ANC to remove and expel the Israel Embassy here in South Africa because it will be a decision that will intensify our international solidarity with the people of Palestine,” says Nehawu's Ayanda Zulu.
Meanwhile the SA Jewish Board in KZN says it's puzzled by the move.
National Director of the Board Wendy Kahn feels it's the wrong move.
"To bring back diplomats at such a sensitive time, at a time where there are South African civilians in a war zone, and you are bringing back the embassy staff at a time where they could be really needed, I think is extremely problematic."
