Robbers target Mpisane's La Lucia home, suspect arrested
Updated | By Gcinokuhle Malinga
A suspect has been arrested while two others remain on the run following an attempted robbery at the home of well-known businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize in La Lucia, north of Durban.
It's believed the gang entered the southern part of the mansion on Saturday afternoon.
The Royal AM football club owner shares the home with her ex-husband Sbu Mpisane.
Mkhize lives in the northern part of the property which was divided between the pair during their divorce.
According to local neighbourhood chat groups, gunshots were heard coming from the residence before 14:00.
The police's Robert Nesthiunda says Durban north officers are investigating a case of house breaking.
"The owner of the house reportedly found the suspects inside his house and one of the suspects allegedly cocked the gun and the owner retaliated. One suspect was injured and the other two reportedly escaped unharmed. Police found a firearm in the room where the suspects were allegedly hiding before fleeing the scene."
