President Cyril Ramaphosa announced his new national executive on Sunday evening, more than a week after he was sworn in.

The number of ministers has increased from 30 to 32, while there are 43 deputy ministers, with eleven departments having two deputies.

The cabinet members are from nine out of the 11 political parties that have signed up to the government of national unity.

The United African Transformation Party and Rise Mzansi are the only parties without ministerial positions.

RISE Mzansi's Mabine Seabe says the party didn't ask for one, nor were they offered a position in the executive.

"Our participation in the GNU does not mean we will rubber stamp the decisions of the executive. We will scrutinise all announcements and decisions of the executive, and where it is in the best people of South Africa, we will lend our support.

"RISE Mzansi looks forward to playing an active role in elevating the status of Parliament and ensuring that the president, deputy president, minister and deputy ministers act to uphold the constitution."
